Wouldn’t you rather hear someone’s voice than see his or her words in a text message? How about being able to say a lot more than you can type with your thumbs, without having to arrange a time for a phone call or get cut off by voicemail? Wouldn’t it be even better if you didn’t need a data plan to make this idea work?
My friends, there is an app for that.
Voxer Walkie Talkie App
For the last two years, I have been in communication heaven with the Voxer app on my iPhone. I travel internationally quite a bit, so it’s important to me that I can keep in touch with friends and family relatively easily while I’m overseas without access to my data plan. The Voxer app allows me to do so, and it doesn’t stop at that.
While the walkie-talkie function is a home run by itself, you can also send texts and images with Voxer and create group conversations. You don’t need a data plan to make it work. If you are connected to WiFi, you can communicate all you want through Voxer.
But the best part for me is that I use it to keep in touch with my best friends who live far away from me. When our schedules can’t find time to make a phone call, we chat with each other through Voxer whenever we want, and it certainly beats a lifeless text message.
These days, most hotels, restaurants, and cafes provide free WiFi to their customers, which means you can be connected to your friends on Voxer all across the globe.
Worried about time zones? Don’t be. With Voxer, you don’t need to be on the app at the same time. You can simply send a vox to your friends, and they can open it and respond whenever it is convenient for them.
I use this app everyday, more than any other app in my phone. It’s genius, simple, and makes my life easier and richer.
Oh, I forgot to mention it’s FREE. So, what are you waiting for?
By the way, these opinions are my own. Voxer did not commission me to write this post, but they did send me a sweet hoodie a while back for being such a good supporter.
